Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast


Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast
Makes 8 large pieces

Ingredients:
·       1 Package of cream cheese softened
·       1 loaf of Italian or Challah bread, cut into 8 thick slices
·       3 T of sugar
·       1 C of milk
·       2 large eggs
·       1 tsp of vanilla extract
·       2 T butter
·       ½ C powdered sugar for topping

Directions:
1.     Preheat oven to 350°
2.    Mix sugar and cream cheese
3.    Make Cream Cheese sandwiches with the Italian bread (yes, just like it sounds)
4.     Whisk together the milk, eggs & vanilla extract
5.    Dip the sandwiches in the milk / egg mixture and pinch the sides
6.    In a non-stick pan, melt the butter and cook the sandwiches for a few minutes on each side until the side lightly toast.
7.    Place them in the oven for 12 - 15 minutes
8.    Remove the sandwiches from the oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar
